Rupal Bhansali serves as the CEO, CIO and Portfolio Manager of international and global equity portfolios and brings over 30+ years of investment experience. She is a rare woman of color to have broken through the glass ceiling on Wall Street. She is the author of “Non-Consensus Investing” which describes her unconventional investment approach. Rupal also serves on the Boards of several non-profits and the Investment Committee of the World War 2 Museum.

Prior to launching Double Duty, Rupal spent 25+ years in intrapreneurial roles at Ariel Investments (12 years), MacKay Shields (10 years) & Oppenheimer Capital (5 years) where she helped build and grow their international and global equity capabilities and assets. She began her buy-side career on the hedge fund side at Soros Fund Management.

From 2020 to 2023, she was featured on Barron’s “100 Most Influential Women in US Finance” Annual list. She received the “Global Equities’ Leader of the Year” Award from Bonhill PLC in 2022 and the “North American Industry Leadership” Annual Award from 100 Women in Finance in 2019. From 2019-2023, Rupal served as a member of the Barron’s Investment Round-table. In 2021 CNBC described her as a “legendary contrarian known for her unconventional thinking”.

Rupal earned a Bachelor’s and Master’s of Commerce from the University of Mumbai. She later earned an MBA from the University of Rochester where she was a Rotary Foundation Scholar. She is a Fundamentals of Sustainability Accounting (“FSA”) Credential Holder from the IFRS Foundation. When not picking stocks or reading research, she supports women’s empowerment and helps spread financial literacy & lessons from World War 2.

Maurice serves as a portfolio manager and brings over 30 years of investment experience.

Most recently he served as a Senior Portfolio  Manager at the Swiss Private Bank, UBP and B. Riley Wealth Management. Prior to that he worked at Mackay Shields alongside Rupal for a decade. Maurice started his career at Fiduciary Trust-Templeton and Clemente Capital where he covered emerging market equities.

Maurice completed his MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University and has a BA in Economics and Finance from Kean University in New Jersey.

Maurice serves as a Trustee and Treasurer of Kiwimbi International, a non-profit focused on providing growth opportunities through education to underserved communities in Kenya. When he is not delving deep into the prophylactic properties of medicinal compounds, he enjoys walking, biking and gardening.

Chaim Schneider serves as the Portfolio Manager of various international and global equity strategies and brings over 20 years of investment experience.

Prior to Double Duty, Chaim managed several portfolios at a family office. Earlier in his career, he worked with Rupal for almost a decade at Ariel Investments and as Director of Research at Mackay Shields as Senior Investment Analyst. Before joining the buyside in 2007, Chaim worked as a consumer analyst at Citibank and as an auditor at Deloitte.

Chaim earned an MBA from New York University and a bachelor’s from Yeshiva University in New York. He is also CFA charter holder and a former* CPA. As an ESG-integrated investor, he is a Fundamentals of Sustainability Accounting (“FSA”) Credential Holder from the IFRS Foundation.

An avid reader, Chaim can sit still all day consuming copious amounts of research. He is passionate about sharing his knowledge and wisdom and has trained many aspiring analysts. Outside of work, he enjoys juggling and juggling time with his four kids.

Julie serves as an associate supporting senior members of our team on research and other projects.

She was a whiz at math and accounting and taught speed math prior to taking a career break as a stay-at-home mom; After a decade-long break she was looking to re-enter the corporate workforce. We are pleased to accommodate her desire for a flexible work schedule to balance her personal and professional responsibilities.

Julie completed her bachelor’s in commerce (business) in Advanced Accounting and Auditing from Saurashtra University in 2004. When she is not sourcing or synthesizing research for us, she enjoys discovering new countries, cuisines and cultures.

Maureen Orlando oversees key non-investment functions and third-party vendors, especially our outsourced middle-back-office managed service provider. She brings over 30 years of experience, having served as Managing Director/Chief of Operations at Chesapeake Asset Management for 20 years and running her own outsourced operations business for several years.

Her wide-ranging experience includes selecting and deploying trading systems, ensuring accuracy of daily trade reconciliation spanning global equities, options, futures swaps, currency forwards as well as overseeing new account onboarding, including handling cash contributions and withdrawals. She has also streamlined processes for new account opening, developed customized performance reporting processes, client presentations and statements and spearheaded the operational and legal infrastructure for 2 hedge funds. She was also responsible for managing relationships with vendors and custodians, ensuring compliance in custodial matters, pricing, securities trading, and staying abreast of relevant SEC, FINRA, & IRS regulations.

Maureen completed her bachelor’s in business administration from St. Bonaventure University in New York.

In her spare time, Maureen enjoys learning new things and is fascinated with emerging managers and technologies.
