Rupal Bhansali serves as the CEO, CIO and Portfolio Manager of international and global equity portfolios at Double Duty Money Management LLC, headquartered in New York. She is a rare woman of color to have broken through the glass ceiling on Wall Street. She is the author of “Non-Consensus Investing” which describes her unconventional investment approach. Rupal also serves on the Boards of several non-profits and the Investment Committee of the World War 2 Museum.
Prior to launching Double Duty, Rupal spent 25+ years in intrapreneurial roles at Ariel Investments (12 years), MacKay Shields (10 years) & Oppenheimer Capital (5 years) where she helped build and grow their international and global equity capabilities and assets. She began her buy-side career on the hedge fund side at Soros Fund Management.
From 2020 to 2023, she was featured on Barron’s “100 Most Influential Women in US Finance” Annual list. She received the “Global Equities’ Leader of the Year” Award from Bonhill PLC in 2022 and the “North American Industry Leadership” Annual Award from 100 Women in Finance in 2019. From 2019-2023, Rupal served as a member of the Barron’s Investment Round-table. In 2021 CNBC described her as a “legendary contrarian known for her unconventional thinking”.
Rupal earned a Bachelor’s and Master’s of Commerce from the University of Mumbai. She later earned an MBA from the University of Rochester where she was a Rotary Foundation Scholar. She is a Fundamentals of Sustainability Accounting (“FSA”) Credential Holder from the IFRS Foundation. When not picking stocks or reading research, she supports women’s empowerment and helps spread financial literacy & lessons from World War 2.
